Many people still don’t know how to find their residence visa’s UID number and file number. So let’s talk about it.
If you get an e-visa before your passport gets a visa sticker, that’s also known as an entry permit UAE and has the UID printed on it. Once the UID is assigned to a person, it stays till you exit the UAE on cancellation. If you join the new organization within UAE, the UID remains the same.

The General Directory of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) and ICA (Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship) handle the Residency Services, and ICA manages Emirates ID Services also.

How to Find UID Number?
If your residence visa copy shows your Emirates ID number but not your UID no, you can find your UID number using your passport information or file number. You can also track your Visa Application & File Validity.

- Go to File Validity Services on ICA Website.
- Always find UID number using Passport Information under search by criteria and Residence/Visa file number under type criteria, as shown below.
- Similar way, you can find your Visa File Number also.
